Quotations You Can Use (November 30, 2012)

“And on that day when my strength is failing, the end draws near and my time has come, still my soul will sing your praise unending–10,000 years and then forever more!”-Matt Redman, 10,000 Reasons.

“The power of God’s Word–This morning I came to the Word greatly discouraged. I left greatly encouraged”–Paul Washer.

“The words “God is love” mean that love is an essential attribute of God. Love is something true of God but it is not God. It expresses the way God is in His unitary being, as do the words holiness, justice, faithfulness and truth. Because God is immutable He always acts like Himself, and because He is a unity He never suspends one of His attributes in order to exercise another”–A.W. Tozer, Knowledge of the Holy, 104.

“We are at a very vulnerable moment. I can’t say that the implosion of America is imminent. But how much longer will God be patient before He decides to judge us for 54 million abortions, a celebration of homosexuality, rampant heterosexual immorality, marital affairs, separations, divorce, the implosion of whole families, rampant pornography, unprecedented murder and violent crime rates, massive deficits, unfathomable debt, and a weak, increasingly apostate Church? Just as we are living on borrowed credit, so we are living on borrowed time”–Joel Rosenberg.

“Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: ‘You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being'”–Revelation 4:9-11.

  1. I offer a challenge, as I compare a quote to a previous established position taken regarding “my problem is not your problem” or “my problem is my problem.”

This statement is a divisive contradictory statement as it relates to the Body/Bride and the relationship to “Members One of Another.” It may be interpreted as an isolation policy statement made to ‘contain’ a social problem. A social engineering method of being sanitized by creating distance without total alienation. An attitude gaining a pervasiveness in our society. Perhaps because one ‘alone’ is virtually helpless to confront. The following quote herein listed from above quotes speaks well to challenge the notion that “my problem is my problem:”

One might argue that two very different things are argued here. The words/syntax may be parsed and undoubtably the Holy Spirit, accountability, and desire to draw close to God are all factors. But then, that is the point of Romans 12, etc. which direct the Body to realize the interdependence on its different parts which are all to be realizing “…God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.” “ Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us…” Romans 12: 16 (Be of the same mind one toward another.) is a manifestation of realizing the implementation of the previous 15 verse directives. The tools are provided and wait to be discovered to address Joel Rosenberg’s concern. A concern we share and experience together.

I find emblematic a member of your staff as an example of said implementation. Thank you for God’s Leadership being realized to experience that living example. I continue to look for extraordinary decisions to come through your office in Christ. Thanks be to God!

    AMEN!!!
Waylon, you can’t repeat this enough! Thank you!

  3. “We never have to worry that we will “miss out” on the good things in life bc of our Christian faith. Nothing we give up bc of our connection to Christ has any lasting value .”-Charles Stanley
