Quotations You Can Use (March 15, 2013)

“Why doesn’t God just force us to do the things he knows to be right? It is because that would lose precisely that which he has intended in our creation: freely chosen character. The centrality of will to personhood is what makes it immediately and strongly precious and gives the person dignity. Dignity is a worth so great that it disallows exchanging a person for anything else. The great worth of the person explains why Jesus Christ would die for the sake of individual human beings and be satisfied with the outcome (Isaiah 53:11; Hebrews 12:2)”–Dallas Willard, Renovation of the Heart: Putting on the Character of Christ, 145.

“I have experienced that nothing makes us as free as interceding for others.” Corrie ten Boom, Not I but Christ, 120.

“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone–for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness”–1 Timothy 2:1-2.

“. . .utter disregard of self in the service of God and man is what the Bible calls love. There is no self-interest in love. The essence of love is self-sacrifice. Even the worst of us is adorned by an occasional flash of such nobility, but the life of Jesus radiated it with a never-fading incandescent glow”–John Stott, Basic Christianity, 49.

“Instinctively we do not class [Jesus] with others. . .Jesus is not one of the group of the world’s great. Talk about Alexander the Great and Charles the great and Napoleon the Great if you will. . .Jesus is apart. He is not the great; he is the only. He is simply Jesus. Nothing could add to that”–Carnegie Simpson.

  1. Our Purpose involves us taking on ourselves the Mind of God in Christ. God already knows what is on our mind.

Our Purpose is found in discovering the Mind of God through fulfilling Romans 12:5.

Not fulfilling Romans 12:5 delays the individual and Body Bride of Christ from fulfillment of HIs Purpose.

    Blessings
