Quotations You Can Use (May 17, 2013)

“Of the Seven Deadly Sins, anger is possibly the most fun. To lick your wounds, to smack your lips over grievances long past, to roll over your tongue the prospect of bitter confrontations still to come, to savor to the last toothsome morsel both the pain you are given and the pain you are giving back–in many ways it is a feast fit for a king. The chief drawback is that what you are wolfing down is yourself. The skeleton at the feast is you”–Frederick Buechner.

“Trying to the do the Lord’s work in your own strength is the most confusing, exhausting, and tedious of all work. But when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, then the ministry of Jesus just flows out of you”–Corrie Ten Boom.

“Christ is substitute for everything, but nothing is a substitute for Christ”–H.A. Ironside.

“God’s work done God’s way will never lack God’s supply”–Hudson Taylor.

“Doing the will of God leaves me no time for disputing about His plans”–George MacDonald.

“Because God is love, the most important lesson he wants you to learn is how to love”–Rick Warren.

“Dusty Bibles always lead to dirty lives. In fact, you are either in the Word and the Word is conforming you to the image of Jesus Christ, or you are in the world and the world is squeezing you into its mold”–Howard G. Hendricks and William D. Hendricks, Living By the Book, 13.

  1. These are great quotes.

They are applicable to applying Romans 12:5 but none of them address the lack of Romans 12:5 being applied or the pain to Christ when not applied. They each in their own way put self on the thrown in seeking a success in isolation with none but the Holy Spirit in Christ which is a bit of irony itself, without knowing the context of the individual authors.

What I know about most ministries is, it is the employment of Romans 12:5 that have made what success they have achieved in Heaven’s and earth’s terms possible, Rick Warren and you for example. Like that company?

    Blessings
