How Christ Makes Us New

“The Holy Spirit guides and strengthens us to organize our lives into a Christlike pattern. Over time, maturing believers develop deeply ingrained habits of holiness. When crisis strikes, we will have inner resources available to respond in a Christlike manner. The Holy Spirit uses these habits to deepen our faith, renew our minds, and to desire God’s purposes for our life. An athlete or soldier strengthens their muscles and conditions their physical body through the discipline of exercise, so that they can perform well when the moment arrives. In the same way, believers must not neglect the daily discipline of holiness we need for spiritual warfare”–John Kincaid.

“But I know Jesus changes lives. He has changed mine and millions and millions of others through the generations. He transforms the hateful and the angry into loving, caring people. He changes the selfish into generous givers and the immoral into men and women of character. The resurrection raises us from the death of sin to a life of righteousness”–Jack Graham.

“Repentance makes a bad man good and a good man better”–Sigurd Bryan.

“If we understand God’s character, and appreciate His loving forgiveness, we will avoid sin. We will recognize that sin denies God, and damages us. We will desire to walk in His ways. We will trust that He disciplines us because He loves us, to protect us from danger. We will gladly submit to God and resist Satan. James 4:7”–John Kincaid.
