The Future of the Church

Christians want to know about the future of the church.

Many believers are anxious about the what is happening in the world. What is the future of the church in the Middle East? What about America itself? With the rise of secularism, we are worried about the church’s future.

Over the next several weeks, I will be preaching about the future of the church. Part of my reason for doing so is to prepare our congregation for our own personal future.

We will use this time to answer questions about when our buildings will be complete and what our schedule is for moving in.

These are all important questions for our congregation. Many changes are going to occur in the near future. I want to try to prepare you for as many of these changes as possible.

At the same time, I want to remind us all of the purpose of the church. It’s easy for the church to get off track. One sermon will be “What’s Wrong With the Church?” and another will be “What’s Right With the Church?”

I also hope to preach about what the church must emphasize and “Why I Like Being a Baptist.”

I hope you will join with us for these next few weeks as we look at “The Future of the Church.”

I also hope and pray that you will take a real look at your own life and attitude. Let us all do what Paul encouraged the church at Philippi to do, “Your attitude should be the same that  Christ Jesus had” (Philippians 2:5).

If we take on the mind and attitude of Christ, the church will do quite well in the future.

  1. Waylon, I would love to hear your sermons on the Future of the Church; but I will just have to interact with your ideas on your Blogs. I am sure that the church is facing some difficult days. We all should be reminded that God is not so much interested in success as He is in faithfulness. It is encouraging to know that faithfulness is not out of reach of anyone of us. Keep hanging tough and tender for Jesus.
