Our Next Congregational Meeting

We have planned our next congregational meeting for Wednesday, May 20, at 6:15 PM in the Worship Center.

Though I do not anticipate a long meeting, I do anticipate a very important meeting. We have several items on the agenda. Two of them are important to our future ministries.

At this congregational meeting we hope to hear a recommendation from our Finance Team and Strategy Planning Team to establish a long-term lending relationship with a local bank. The team has received four proposals which they have examined extensively. They will have a recommendation for you to examine and approve or disapprove.

The meeting will give information of how much we need to borrow as well as our other sources of funding.

We will also use the congregational meeting to bring you up to do date on where we are in the design phase of our new building. We will give you the information we have about what we can afford to build and what we can’t as well as discuss the preliminary cost estimates.

This discussion will get us ready for our next congregational meeting where we hope to make the final decision about what we will build and how much it will cost.

The second important item will be our desire to expand our reach by beginning new campuses for our FBC network of churches. We will give you information about what we hope to do in the future.

As a church, we desire to make a difference in our surrounding community. We believe we can help to revitalize churches and help spread the Gospel.

We know, of course, God can do His great work without us. He is not dependent on our efforts. At the same time, we want to work with God in reaching our neighbors and our neighboring communities. We want to be faithful to Him.

These are exciting times for FBC Covington. We are seeking God’s leading as we expand our campus in Covington and as we seek to make a difference in other areas on the Northshore and in south Louisiana.

I want to invite you to receive a free subscription to waylonbailey.com. Go to the area marked “Subscribe to Waylon’s Blog” and follow the directions and you will receive my daily look at life and Scripture from waylonbailey.com.
