“Someone has pointed out that ours is the only nation on earth where church members feel they have to have ‘worshipful architecture’ before they can adequately honor the Lord. Millions of Christians across the world seem to worship just fine without any kind of bulding. Believers in Malawi meet under mango trees, according to retired missionary Mike Canady, and their worship is as anointed as anyone’s anywhere. . . .Our insistence on worshipful music, worship settings, and worshipful everything are signs of our disgusting self-centeredness”–Joe McKeever.

“The Lord replied, ‘My Presence [Hebrew face] will go with you, and I will give you rest.’ Then Moses said to him, ‘If your Presence [Hebrew face] does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?’ “–Exodus 33: 14-15.

The quote from Exodus 33: 14-15 really spoke loudly this morning. Basically shouting to me saying Christ in me is what sets us apart. Its Christ shining through to those who look at my mortal body but who are seeing Him, something different, a changed soul. And that’s what sets us apart. Yes, it makes believers special in a way that only Jesus Christ can accomplish. A distinguished people. And you know what? It feels good. Knowing that God is always with us where ever we go and that Christ is always there for us in all circumstances. His word speaks loudly this morning. Thanks Pastor.
Amen and Amen.
