Today we welcome Shane, Jessica, and Carson Booker to First Baptist Church.  Shane comes to us in view of a call to serve as our Minister to Students.  We are thankful to be in this position and look forward to hearing Shane for the weekend and at 5:13.  We will meet as a congregation Sunday night to consider the recommendation of the Personnel Ministry Team to call Shane.

Shane comes to us from Panama City, Florida, where he serves in the student ministry at First Baptist Church.  Shane has a powerful testimony of hope that shows the power of God to change lives and to grow us into His image.  We have asked him to share his testimony of hope for our message for the weekend.

Shane will speak at 5:13 as well.  He will speak about his vision for our church and about his philosophy of student ministry.  We invite all of you to attend, especially youth and their parents.  At the conclusion of 5:13, we will politely excuse the Bookers and enter into a congregational meeting to conduct routine business and to consider calling Shane to serve as FBC Minister to Students.  The meeting will begin at 6:30 and will meet in The ROC.

Shane is 31 years old and became a follower of Christ at age 18.  He and Jessica were married in 2005, and Carson was born in 2007.  Since 2005, Shane has served in the student ministry at FBC, Panama City.

Jessica grew up in the church in Panama City and has followed the call of God to serve in Christian ministry as well.  She now serves in the preschool ministry of FBC, Panama City.

We have felt led to present Shane to the congregation.  We believe that he has been gifted and called of God to serve in this capacity and look forward to seeing God at work in our midst.

In addition to The ROC meeting Sunday night, Shane and Jessica will be in the Steeple Foyer at the conclusion of each service.  Please join me in welcoming them to FBC.
