Who’s Preaching?

If you live in South Louisiana, I hope that you will be able to attend some parts of the Louisiana Baptist Convention’s Annual Meeting.

First Baptist Church is honored to serve as the host venue for this meeting. The Pastor’s Conference precedes the convention. It begins Sunday night (tonight) at 6:00 pm in the Worship Center. Michael Catt, pastor of the Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, GA, will be the featured speaker. Michael and his church produced the movies “Facing the Giants,” “Fireproof,” and “Courageous.” I am especially looking forward to a question and answer time with pastor Catt. The meeting is scheduled to end between 7:30 and 8:00 pm.

The Pastor’s Conference continues Monday morning with a time of worship with Sam Perry and East Bayou LIVE Band and messages by David Hankins, Dennis Watson, and Mike Fritscher.

The Pastor’s Conference will conclude with messages in the afternoon session (1:00 pm) by Tony Bourque and Fred Luter, Jr. The session will adjourn at 2:30 pm.

The convention proper begins at Monday evening at 5:35 pm. Each session will begin with Bible Study led by Craig Price. The theme of the Monday night session will be “It’s Time,” a call for Louisiana Baptists to awaken and to lead our state in revival. Joe Aguillard, David Hankins, and convention president Rod Masteller will lead the worship time.

The Tuesday morning session begins at 8:20. The session will include the very important business of the LBC and will conclude with the Convention worship service with music by the Seminarians of NOBTS and a message by Dustie Dunn.

The Tuesday afternoon session begins at 1:45 and concludes with a message by Jack Graham.

I hope that those of you who live in area will take advantage of this opportunity, particularly members of First Baptist, Covington.

May God bless Louisiana Baptists!
