Merry Christmas from Martha and Waylon

Martha and I want to wish you a merry Christmas, a Christmas in which you experience the presence of God in your life.

We know that we are blessed as a family. We are thankful for our children, sons-in-law, and our wonderful grandchildren.

A large part of our blessings has been the opportunity to serve God through the years as pastor of churches and at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. First Baptist Church, Covington has been a very special part of our lives. We are thankful for the many friends and acquaintances that God has given us. Many of you are part of that group.

Others of you are people that we have never met, yet I feel a great connection with you. We look forward to sharing with you in the coming months through the blog.

Thank you for how you have blessed our lives.

I have now been writing this blog for six months. I am amazed at how many people from all over world read it and how much I look forward to posting each day. When I began, I felt compelled of God to do so. I have noticed through the years that when God calls me to do something I take it on with all my heart and experience great satisfaction from it.

Thank you again for reading and sharing these posts with others.

We wish you a merry Christmas.

  1. Randy and I wish you and Martha a Merry Christmas! We were so blessed that our lives crossed your path even though it was for such a short time! God Bless!

  2. Merry Christmas to you and your family Pastor Waylon. Have a wonderful day this Christmas day and may our Heavenly Father bless you and your family with abundance.

  3. Merry Christmas Waylon and Martha! I’m still in awe at how God led us to fbc. We have been so blessed to be part of such an awesome church family.

  4. Our 3-year old grandson was at the 3:00 Christmas Eve service. When we had finished taking the Lord’s Supper, he asked “How come everyone got medicine and I didn’t”? We thought that was so cute. Later I thought of how wonderful the medicine God provided through Jesus is to cure our ultimate sickness of sin.

  5. What a great story and a great application! Grandchildren are just–well, grand.
BTW, can I have permission to retell your story? It sounds like a winner to me.
