John 3:16 and Tim Tebow

Last weekend the New England Patriots clobbered Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos. The game was over quickly but the reaction to it is ongoing, primarily because of the faith of Tim Tebow.

As a Heisman trophy winning quarterback of the Florida Gators, Tim Tebow routinely wore a Bible verse for all to see. John 3:16 was the most popular: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Tim Tebow, his faith, and his leadership skills have been the phenomenon of the current NFL season. People everywhere have been talking about God and football. No one quite knew what to do with the previous week when Tebow threw for 316 total yards on a average of 31.6 yards per catch and the audience share for the fourth quarter was 31.6!

This past Saturday Focus on the Family aired a wonderful ad quoting John 3:16. The ad created an estimated 100 million “hits” on John 3:16.

If you would like to see the ad watch the following video.

People who live out their faith in their everyday lives have a tremendous opportunity to reach people and touch lives. Credible Christians help their friends and family know God and experience life-changing relationships.

May you and I be that kind of believer.

  1. It is so refreshing to see a strong christian man show his faithfulness to the world. Praise God that my kids can see such an inspiring man not afraid to share his love for the Lord.
