God’s Plan For His Church

We belong to Christ, and we are part of His church. We should not take this lightly. The church matters to God, and it should matter to us. The church is the bride of Christ. He cares for and protects His bride. He will not take lightly those who harm His bride.

You should not fear many things in life, but you should fear harming the bride of Christ and bringing sorrow to His body.

Therefore, how should we act and serve? What does God want for you, a member of the body of Christ?

Over the next few weeks, I will write from time to time about what God wants you to do.

This is the key—what does God want of me? Over the years I have noticed that everyone has an idea of what the church should be and do, but they have a hard time seeing what God wants them to be and do.

Instead of thinking about what others should do, start thinking about what you should do. After all, you are the only one you can really change. You can complain about others, but you can only change yourself.

If I am the church, then God has a plan for me. The church can never be what God wants until I am living as God wants me to live.

These are the most important questions you can ask:

First, “God, is there anything in my life you want to change?” (It doesn’t do any good to ask that question if you are not willing to listen to the answer and do something about it).

Second, “God, what do you want me to do right now to please you?”

I have found that asking these questions and dealing seriously with God’s answer makes all the difference. Can you imagine the difference in the church when He answers these questions and we are obedient?
