Quotations You Can Use (August 10, 2012)

“No one escapes criticism. The difference between people is not that some people are criticized and others are not. The difference is that some people are stimulated by criticism and others are stopped by it”–Brian L. Harbour, 17 Roadblocks on the Highway of Life, 49-50.

“What God declares the believing heart confesses without the need of further proof. Indeed, to seek proof is to admit doubt, and to obtain proof is to render faith superfluous. Everyone who possesses the gift of faith will recognize the wisdom of those daring words of one of the early Church fathers: ‘I believe that Christ died for me because it is incredible; I believe that he rose from the dead because it is impossible’ “–A.W. Tozer, Knowledge of the Holy. 25.

“Though we delight in blaming others for our problems, most of the issues of life can be dealt with by dealing with our own issues”–Waylon Bailey.

“The idea that excellence at performing a complex task requires a critical minimum level of practice surfaces again and again in studies of expertise. In fact, researchers have settled on what they believer is the magic number for true expertise: ten thousand hours”–Malcolm Gladwell, Outliers: The Story of Success, 39-40.

“Do what you do so well that they will want to see it again and bring their friends”–Walt Disney.

“Good customer service costs almost nothing”–Mark DeMoss, The Little Red Book of Wisdom, 76.

  1. Enjoyed the Quotes. While cutting grass one day it occured to me that we pray for rain then stay home from worship service because it’s raining.

  2. “‘Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up.’ (Eccl. 4: 9-10). Remember, as the disciples were about to embark on the unknown, Jesus prayed for their unity, oneness, and love for each other and God (John 17).” Drs. Henry Cloud & John Townsend, Boundaries, pg. 265, #4. Lean on your support group.
