Quotations You Can Use (October 5, 2012)

“The chief danger of the 20th century [and the 21st] will be religion without the Holy Spirit, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and Heaven without Hell”–William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army.

“When I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust, I will not fear. What can man do to me?”–Psalm 56:3-4.

“Celebrate what you want to see more of”–Tom Peters.

“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out”–Robert Collier.

“In my experience, success is rarely the result of one singular action or breakthrough. Instead, it is the result of hundreds, if not thousands, of incremental improvements over time. There’s no quick fix. . . .As tempting as it may be to think something or someone will be the answer to all your problems, I think it is more prudent to work diligently on the fundamentals. One decision–one action–at a time. In the end, this will get us through–and enable us to succeed”–Michael Hyatt.

“Now is our chance to choose the right side. God is holding back to give us that chance. It won’t last forever. We must take it or leave it”–C.S. Lewis.

“Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”–Joshua 24:15.

  1. All are apropos.

I was awakened at 3 this morning as my wife rushed out to bring her mother to the hospital. She moved from San Antonio to Covington last weekend. My wife’s health has been challenged even more as of late.

My sister continues on the path of domination regardless of the cost/damage to our Mother. She takes no responsibility for her actions. Likely will have to involve Mom’s nurse and social worker assigned as Mom’s Home Health care agency providers. Mom’s cardiologist has withdrawn his services as per certified mail received Friday last week. Her primary care physician is needing a new partner as his case load has gone up about 50%. He shared with me last night he is not having any success in getting any help with his practice. Any Doctors out there looking for a ready made case load? He is still grieving over the loss of his sister to brain cancer. (He says she is one of the finest, sweetest, most dear person he has ever known all the way to the end.) Thank you Lord for Your Blessing. AMEN. That includes the Millers for their prayers as it does the men who pray Tuesday mornings for our country, our ministers and First Baptist Church of Covington in its Mission of being the Living Bride of Christ Jesus.
