Quotations You Can Use (October 12, 2012)

“Unless we teach the next generation the truth about the Lord, they will turn away and start following the world”–Warren Wiersbe,  Be Strong: Putting God’s Power to Work in Your Life, 66.

“God grants liberty only to those who love it, and are always ready to guard and defend it”–Daniel Webster.

“Without religion there can be no virtue, and without virtue there can be no liberty, and liberty is the object of all republican governments”–Benjamin Rush.

“Today many believe that the living spiritual truths of religion have lost their power, and that science, not faith, is the road to truth. Before my experience I strongly suspected that this was the case myself. But now I understand that such a view is far too simple. The plain fact is that the materialist picture of the body and brain as the producers, rather than the vehicles, of human consciousness is doomed. In its place a new view of mind and body will emerge, and in fact is emerging already. This view is scientific and spiritual in equal measure and will value what the greatest scientists of history themselves always valued about all: truth”–Eben Alexander, The Proof of Heaven.

“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free”–Jesus, John 8:31-32.

  1. Words and their meaning are so very interesting. One can say something and without realizing it, be understood in a very different way. One might think in terms of “parable.”

A republic is a form of government in which the country is considered a “public matter” (Latin: res publica), not the private concern or property of the rulers, and where offices of states are subsequently directly or indirectly elected or appointed rather than inherited. In modern times, a common simplified definition of a republic is a government where the head of state is not a monarch.
A DEMOCRAT is: a) an adherent of democracy; b) one who practices social equality.

Benjamin Rush, eminent Physician, writer, educator, humanitarian, is as interesting a figure as one could find in the formation of the United States. This Founding Father of these United States of America was not talking about Party affiliation as we consider speaking about a Republican form of government in the current context of Presidential Election.

“The Truth will set you Free.” Free from the bondage of the World? Free from needing food and shelter? Free from what? Questions that should be asked and answered to get into the context of the statement understanding that His Kingdom was not of this world. Yet, understanding/accepting (Faith) relationship in the spirit and physical opens up His dimension to humans. A dimension that enables its followers to facilitate in their oneness with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit a dominance of Purpose: Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done, On Earth as It is in Heaven. John 1, John 14, John 15:5, Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, James, 23 Psalms “For His Name’s Sake.”

Good quotes. May your readers Know the Truth, or at least find it. May we realize it together. AMEN.
    Thanks!
    Blessings.
