Merry Christmas From Our Family

May God bless your family today with special times of worship, praise, and togetherness. Anyone who knows Martha and me know we love our family and care deeply for your family.

We are thankful for the privilege of serving the congregation of First Baptist Church, Covington, Louisiana. I have been pastor of this great church since May 1989. Martha and I often talk of how this has been the highlight of our ministry. We have loved all of our churches and I was blessed to get to teach Old Testament and Hebrew at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. We are thankful God has given us this ministry.

You are a special part of my ministry. I appreciate your reading and commenting on my posts. Almost everywhere I go, I run into someone who reads the blog. Thank you for doing so. You are kind to share the blog with others and introduce them to my ministry across the Internet.

Today, we are getting to spend a special day with our family at home. Our daughter Anna and her husband Chris live in Covington and worship with us at FBC. They have two growing boys who are involved in sports and love life. Jake is now 11 and Chase is 7.

Our second daughter Emily and her husband Brad are in church ministry as well. They are in the process of moving to the First Baptist Church of Jensen Beach, Florida, where Brad will serve as Senior Pastor. We are excited for them and looking forward to see how God will use them in the future.

Emily and Brad have our only granddaughter. Reagan is age 4. She is a delightful and sweet girl who reminds me very much of her mother. They also have a 6 month old son named Luke who smiles incessantly and rarely cries. They will be with us through the end of the month. We are grateful to have several days to spend with them.

We hope to have a special day with our family. We pray for you as well. May God bless you this blessed day when we remember God’s special work of coming to dwell among us.
