Lessons On Love And Friendship

“If you look for something to criticize, you will find it. If you look for something to compliment, you will find that, too. Your choice”–Katrina Meyer.

“You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you”–Dale Carnegie.

“We are so obsessed with doing that we have no time and no imagination left for being. As a result, men are valued not for what they are but for what they do or what they have–for their usefulness”–Thomas Merton.

“The best way to change someone is to love them. If you do not love someone, your attempts to change them will be a form of criticism; and they will be counter-productive. . . . Jesus’ command that we are to love our enemies is a brightly shining testament to the fact He is indeed the Hope of our world”–Mark Graham.

“We have been sustained by the prayers of God’s people”–Waylon

“But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he make his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust”–Jesus, Matthew 5: 44-45.

  1. Loving your enemies has a context that must be remembered in the setting of the Purpose of His Love, Agape. Someone from within God’s camp attacks another for their own purposes, making themselves lord of their “own,” they have stepped into a dark place. Should a person be attacked unjustly with a baseball bat, with those in God’s camp looking on, the person attacked will be beaten. Should a person be stoned unjustly while those in “God’s” camp look on, the person attacked will be stoned. There was a time and is a time for martyrs to build the “Church.” Usually, it is not found within the context of a family, or “church.”

Did He not say family members will be at odds because of Him? It is interesting to see how sides and lines are drawn. It is interesting to see how organizations purporting they are of God are like the Temple and synagogue rulers of the New Testament. The lessons of James (New Testament Letter) are timeless as is the Prayer of Jesus for His Disciples and the Model Prayer of thanksgiving and living with expectation He gave to His. “Sanctify them through Thy Truth: Thy Word is Truth.” “Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done in earth, as It is in Heaven.”

    Blessings
