The month of August is one of the biggest months of the year at FBC Covington. The reason is the beginning of school. Instead of beginning the new year in January, I’ve often thought it made more sense to begin the new year when the new school year begins.

I love new beginnings.

In August, I will preach a new sermon series called “Forgiving and Letting Go,” teach a verse by verse Bible Study on Wednesday nights from Paul’s letters, and begin a new series for men on Tuesday mornings.

The Tuesday Men’s Breakfast will begin a new season August 6 at 6:30 AM. We meet each Tuesday in order to “Become Men of Influence.” We want to become men of influence at home, on our jobs, at church, and in our world.

Beginning Tuesday, August 6, we will begin a study in Romans which will emphasize the basics of our Christian faith. This will be a great time for long time believers to be refreshed and newer believers to get a good foundation in Christ.

Our Tuesday Men’s Breakfast is not a Bible Study but a look at areas we all need to become men of influence.

This is a study for men of all generations and backgrounds. We start at 6:30 and end promptly at 7:30.

Please make every effort to attend. If you know of men who would be helped by Christian fellowship and an emphasis on the basics of Christian living, please encourage them to attend as well.

I hope you will join with us beginning August 6 as we seek to become “Men of Influence.”
