The Power Of Forgiveness

“The ultimate proof of total forgiveness takes place when we sincerely petition the Father to let those who have hurt us off the hook–even if they have hurt not only us, but also those close to us”–R.T. Kendall, Total Forgiveness, 16.

“A sincere apology is a beautiful thing”–Mark Graham.

“Every one says forgiveness is a lovely idea, until they have something to forgive. . .” C. S. Lewis.

“. . . you must totally forgive them. Until you totally forgive them you will be in chains. Release them, and you will be released”–Josif Tson.

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing”–Luke 23:34.

“Totally forgiving someone doesn’t necessarily mean we will want to spend our vacation with them, but it does mean that we release the bitterness in our hearts concerning what they have done”–R.T. Kendall, Total Forgiveness, 20.

“[Forgiving and letting go] ‘caught me by surprise’ in regards to forgiving myself. Struggling with hurts and issues of the past, I began to realize my lack of self-forgiveness was a point of pride and self-righteousness that kept me in bondage and anguish. Releasing the past to God was the initial step for me to find peace and the true motivation to forgive others. To walk through the valley of forgiving ourselves is empowerment to stand on God’s mountain of mercy”–Anonymous.

“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us”–Psalm 103:8-12.
