Want to Know Your Future? Look at Your Character

“Don’t let your situation that you’re in now define what you’re going to become later. I always tell them it’s not where you start, it’s how you finish”–Gabe Sonnier, principal of Port Barre, Louisiana, Elementary School.

“Solomon not only taught his son but he also led him. What a lesson! Telling our children to trust God will have little effect if they see us stewing and fretting. They’re not apt to value prayer if we don’t model its importance. Our children will more likely be compassionate if we are. As we “sit at home,” “walk along the road,” “lie down,” and “get up,” our daily examples lead our children”–Ann Maniscalco, Missions Mosaic.

“A man’s character is his fate”–Heraclitus.

“Sow a thought, and you reap an act; Sow an act, and you reap a habit; Sow a habit, and you reap a character; Sow a character, and you reap a destiny”–anonymous.

“Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill? Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to slander others or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends” (Psalm 15:1-3, NLT).
