An “Even if He Does Not” Faith

“If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up”–Daniel 3:17-18.

“I hope if people hear my story, I think they will understand and they will know more and more of what God said and they will understand what it means to stand strong and have courage. . . . [On the night of December 22, 2011, three Boko Haram militants entered Pastor Peters’ home and demanded that he recant his Christian faith], He told them that he should rather die than go to hellfire. So, he then told them that [Jesus] said anyone that denied Him, He’s gonna deny them in the presence of his Dad in heaven. So my dad refused to deny his faith and they [shot] him three times in the chest”–Deborah Peters, age 15.

“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior”–Habakkuk 3:17-18.

“Our faith is the fundamental calling in our lives, and the centerpiece of who we are. . . . With all the grotesque thing that can be seen and heard on television today you would think there would be room for two twin brothers who are faithful to our families, committed to biblical principles, and dedicated professionals. If our faith cost us a television show then so be it”–David and Jason Benham in response to their “firing” by HGTV because of their faith.
