The Month of July

Martha and I want to thank you for your gracious concern for us.

We are looking forward to our time off during the month of July. You are kind to allow us to be away to refresh. We know as the month comes to a close we will be anxious to get back to serving with you in this location.

One of the things I am most thankful for is the congregational care given by our pastors. I can leave knowing they will look after your spiritual needs during the month.

I am also thankful for those who will preach during the month. We have two guests who will be with us and two of our pastors who will preach. These are the preachers you will get to hear during the month.

July 5-6, Dr. Rod Masteller, former pastor at Summer Grove Baptist Church in Shreveport and former president of the Louisiana Baptist Convention. Rod has a burden for America and for the revival of our nation.

July 12-13, Keith Manuel works in evangelism efforts with the Louisiana Baptist Convention. I am thankful to Keith for helping keep the need to reach the lost before us.

July 19-20, Josh Jordan, FBC College and Young Adult Pastor

July 26-27, Kevin Harless, FBC Children’s Pastor

This will be the first time the church has had the privilege of hearing Kevin and Josh preach. Please be in prayer for them as they prepare and as they preach.

Jeff Griffin and Jay Johnston will lead our Wednesday Worship time. Jeff is a professor at New Orleans Seminary. He will lead the services July 9 and 16. Jay Johnston, our Associate Pastor, will lead July 30. We will not meet July 23 in order to have WinShape Camp.

I will be back to preach Sunday, August 3-4 and to lead the Wednesday Worship August 6.

Our Tuesday Men’s Breakfast will resume August 5. I hope the men of our church will set aside that time for fellowship and to study the basics of our faith as found in the book of Romans.

As Martha and I worship in other places, I pray you will be faithful in worship as well.

Thanks, Harold. So glad modern technology allows you to stay connected to the church in spite of your rigorous job.

Waylon, we will pray for you and Martha to have quiet, peaceful rest, relaxation, recreation, time with family and all of the important things needed to be refreshed. May God bless and keep you.
It will be good to hear about your visits with other church families when you return.

I see in your post Dr. Rod Masteller will be filling in for you while you are away. I had the pleasure of hearing him last year here at FBC Broussard for a 3-day revival. I encourage everyone not to miss hearing him on July 5 & 6. He is absolutely awesome….and you will receive such a blessing. I cannot close without wishing you & Martha a blessed time off in July. God be with you!! Love & Prayers!!

Thanks for your blessing and thanks for the encouragement to hear Rod Masteller. He has a real burden for revival for America. It was really good to see you last month.
