Worry

Worry is a killer. Plain and simple.

Jesus warned us explicitly about worry. He told us that worry really can do nothing for us. It adds nothing. It helps nothing, and it provides nothing. It simply diminishes our lives.

What should we know about worry?

First, worry is ungodly. It is the exact opposite of trust. Never did God tell us in His Word to worry, to fear, or to fret. In fact, God told us not to worry and not to fear. The reason why we shouldn’t fear is because God is in control. When we trust Him, we really have everything we need.

Second, worry subtracts. Worry doesn’t add a cubit to our lives. We now know that worry actually harms our lives. It harms our health, and it harms our lifespan.

In addition, worry subtracts from the quality of our lives. Instead of the joyous, meaningful lives God desires for us, worry takes away from God’s plan. Worry can never say, “This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.” Worry says this is a day of sorrow, sadness, and hurt.

Third, worry adds. It adds to our burdens; it adds to our concerns; and it adds to our sorrow. Instead of making today better, worry adds more problems to today.

Finally, worry keeps us from the rich, vibrant, and trusting life God wants us to have.

Instead of worrying, make a list of the things that are bothering you and set out to cross off every item on the list today. Do this every day and you’ll find less to worry about and more to live for.

I promise you the words of Jesus are true. Tomorrow will have plenty to worry about. You don’t need to add tomorrow’s problems to today. It will do quite well for worry by itself.

  1. Howdy this is somewhat of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding expertise so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!

  2. hey THANKS (from Sonja Bernhardt the innovator of the Screen Goddess IT Calendar). “You Get IT” so great to see – yes women’s brains are not disembodied from our bodies, we are integrated humans, why do we have to deny our femininity to be accepted/respected. I believe that the raging world wide debates over these issues have been an added benefit and hopefully will assist in sorting the issues – in a positive direction:-) THANKS
