Many people–maybe most people–in America believe we are going through a period of decline. In fact, a survey from just a few days ago showed a large number of people who believe our children will be worse off than their parents.
Recent polls are showing that a majority of people believe the country is headed in the wrong direction.
Our allies don’t seem to trust us and worse–our enemies don’t respect us.
Can America return to its greatness?
I believe our problems are not as much political or economic as they are spiritual.
What can we do to return to our roots as a nation?
First, we can get involved. Tuesday is voting day in America. As believers in a democracy, we have the obligation to get involved. We should participate in the political process. We should vote in every election.
And, we should vote our values.
Second, we can focus on “us” and not “them.” Blaming other people will not change things but looking deep within will bring change to us first and then to society.
The lost people of the world are not the problem. If we will do what we should–what Jesus told us to–we can make a difference in the world.
Lost people aren’t blessed with the power of the Holy Spirit to resist sin, and they don’t have the Spirit’s enlightenment about spiritual things.
Third, we can depend on God. While we seek to change our ways, the real change comes when we look to God and turn ourselves toward Him.
Finally, we can humble ourselves and pray. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
I pray for a profound change in me and God’s healing of our land.

Since the 1930’s we have watched socialism creep into our society, and look what it has done to it. We must get a Republican take over of the Senate. Then we can focus on 2016 and elect a real conservative maybe Huckabee or Cruz. They can bring the greatness back to our land by closing the borders, ending social handouts, standing up to our enemies, downsizing government and privatizing liberal programs like public education and health insurance.

What a blessing to read and see how the Lord has ministered in and through you in the years since 1973 when we finished our ThM’s at NOBTS together. I pray for you consistently when I come to my time for praying for pastors across our nation, and I do praise the Lord for all that He has done in and through you in ministering to the Body of Christ around the world. I called today and left my phone numbers for you, as I was wanting to find out from you personally your perspective on Bill Cassidy, who will be in the runoff on Dec. 6, 2014, against Landrieu. As I checked him out, he appears to be the “real thing” to me, and I am going to send out an e-mail to pastor friends and other professors I know who share the same “world view” as we do concering the “spiritual/political” direction of our nation with regard to the runoff and Cassidy’s commitment to Christ and his positions on the vital issues. His election, in my opinion, transcends the state of LA and encompasses the whole of our nation and the direction we take in the following years under “godly” direction, versus the “ungodly” direction we have been going in for the past six years. In addition, I have been doing some teaching and writing on Islam, which includes an exegetical analysis of the Quran from the Arabic, and I am also doing some seminars on the subject. I would love to send you an overview of the overview of the twelve hour seminar I do, which overview I present to churches on a Sunday where I will be teaching the seminar the following week. If you think it would be something that would benefit your “flock,” I would be deeply honored to come and share with you all. However, even if you don’t want the seminar, I would love to send the overview to you, and you can use it however you wish to minister to your “flock.” I will look forward to hearing from you, and I and others out here in “The People’s Republic of CA” are praying intensely for the victory of Bill Cassidy on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014.
