Coming Events

Each week I write a message to the members of my congregation. It’s called Lagniappe (pronounced lag-yap and meaning “a little something extra”). I’ve done this weekly in all of the churches I have served. These are words specifically for my local congregation, in order to provide as much information as possible. Thanks for reading.

I hope and pray you have a wonderful time of thanksgiving this week with your family.

As we get away from work for a few days, please make sure to attend worship and your Bible Fellowship Group.

Here are some things you need to know for the coming weeks:

The Schedule for this week. Wednesday activities and the Tuesday Men’s Breakfast will not be held this week. We will return to our regular schedule the week after Thanksgiving.

Prospective youth pastor to visit. Saturday and Sunday December 6-7 we will have a prospective youth pastor visiting in view of a call to serve our congregation. He has met with the appropriate teams and will be presented to the church by the Personnel Team. If everything continues to move forward we will have a called congregational meeting Wednesday, December 10, to vote on the candidate. The meeting will be held in the Fellowship Hall at 6:30 PM.

Sunday night music. Please join with us Sunday nights December 7 and December 14 for Christmas music. Our children’s choir will lead us December 7 and the Sanctuary Choir December 14. Each service begins at 6:00 PM.

Christmas Eve Services. We will join together for our Christmas Eve services at 3:00, 4:30, and 6:00 PM. The Christmas Eve worship, which includes the Lord’s Supper, is one of the most exciting and well attended services of the year. We will also take an offering for the benevolence needs of our community.

Please make every effort to take advantage of these opportunities.
