Worship that Pleases God

“The Lord is in his holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before him”–Habakkuk 2:20.

“When any of you men enter your office Monday morning at 9 o’clock, if you can’t walk into that office and say, ‘The Lord is in my office, let all the world be silent before him,’ then you are not worshiping the Lord on Sunday. . .If you do not worship God seven days a week, you do not worship him one day a week”–A.W. Tozer.

“O, my God: I am too ashamed and humiliated to lift up my face to You, my God; for our iniquities have risen higher than our heads, and our guilt has grown up to the heavens” (Ezra 9:6).

“Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise, Thou mine Inheritance, now and always; Thou and Thou only, first in my heart, High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art”–8th Century Irish hymn, Be Thou My Vision.

” ‘Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God almighty, who was and is and is to come!’ And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever; they cast their crowns before the throne, singing, ‘Worthy art thou, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for thou didst create all things, and by thy will they existed and were created’ ” (Revelation 4:8-11).
