How God Reveals Himself to Us

“The human mind is not capable of grasping the Universe. We are like a little child entering a huge library. The walls are covered to the ceilings with books in many different tongues. The child knows that someone must have written these books. It does not know who or how. It does not understand the languages in which they were written. But the child notes a definite plan in the arrangement of the books–a mysterious order which it does not comprehend, but only dimly suspects”–Albert Einstein.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the skies proclaim the work of his hands”–Psalm 19:1.

“If we truly desire to live in the realm of the Spirit we must continually feed our minds with His truth. It is hypocritical to pray for victory over our sins and yet be careless in our intake of the Word of God”–Jerry Bridges.

“The general will of God for all His children is given clearly in the Bible. The specific will of God for any given situation must always agree with what He has already revealed in His Word. The better we know God’s general will, the easier it will be to determine His specific guidance in daily life”–Warren Wiersbe.

“God’s Word must be so strongly fixed in our minds that it becomes the dominant influence in our thought, our attitudes, and our actions. One of the most effective ways of influencing our minds is through memorizing Scripture. David said, ‘I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you’ (Psalm 119:11)”–Jerry Bridges.

“The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb” (Psalm 19: 7-10).

  1. Excellent post with great analogies and scripture. Would you share how you memorize scripture? I think old age has set in, I memorize a scripture a week and in 3 weeks I have forgotten the scripture.
