Fear Is a Bully

“Fear is a bully that hounds us until it destroys us. When we give in to our fear, it grows and becomes even more menacing. You must deal with your fear”–Waylon Bailey.

“What then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?–Romans 8:31.

“If the Lord be with us, we have no cause of fear. His eye is upon us, his arm over us, his ear open to our prayer, his grace sufficient, his promise unchangeable”–John Newton.

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you”–Psalm 56:3.

“Fear not, I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand”–Isaiah 41:10.

“Fretting and worrying are actually sins. . . . It is not weakness but wickedness. Fretting rises from our determination to have our own way. Our Lord never worried and was never anxious because His purpose was never to accomplish His own plans, but to fulfill the plans of His Father. Fretting is not weakness, but wickedness for a Child of God”–Ron Herrod.

“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass”–Psalm 37:4-5.

“Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come, Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav’n and home, When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He: His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me”–His Eye Is On the Sparrow by Civilla D. Martin.
