The Takeaways from This Week’s Congregational Meeting

Thank you for your attendance and interest this past week at our Congregational Meeting on Wednesday, May 20th. While we dealt with a number of necessary items, the bulk of the meeting revolved around our vision and plans for the future.

Here are some of the takeaways from our meeting:

·       We reaffirmed the direction we had previously established. Namely, to build additional education space for preschoolers and children.

·       After the opening of the preschool and children’s building (about a one year project), renovation will occur in the current preschool and children’s buildings to refit the use for adults.

·       We reaffirmed our plans to build a large commons area for fellowship and movement from Bible study to worship.

·       We reaffirmed our vision to move forward to build a new 2400 seat Worship Center.

·       We accepted the proposal of First NBC Bank to provide financing for the building project.

·       We received the report from the Finance Ministry Team that shows our Rise Up! Capital Campaign is progressing nicely. If we continue on the giving pace that has been established over the past 15 months, we will receive 100% of the commitments that were made. This faithful giving is allowing us to move forward with confidence for this expansion project.

Thank you for your faithfulness to give and to pray. Please continue to pray that God would lead us and show us his direction for our church.

I have been on your email list for about a year or so now and can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed it and how much it means to me daily.

Having read this latest post about the upcoming expansion projects at the church I just feel compelled to let you know I’m the Operations Manager for Yates Construction, one of the largest building contractors in the Southeast with experiences in church construction. (First Baptist Biloxi is one) if you are not settled on a contractor we would love the opportunity to speak with your committee to see if we may be of service.
    Just a thought.

Thanks again for your daily emails.

    Sincerely,
    Rock Herrin

  2. It was an exciting time to hear about all the plans for the future of our church and to know that the building process will soon begin. May God bless us as we go through this process and continue to bring more people to faith in Him.

  3. This is good news.
Prayers for an overflow of people to fill even the new spaces to capacity quickly are ongoing.
How GR8T it will be for our church to regularly welcome many thousands on our campus!
