America Needs Your Church

In World War II, a poster of Uncle Sam pointed right at you and said: “I want you for U.S. Army.”

Those were frightening times for the whole world, but those were outside problems. I have no doubt Americans can deal with any problem with outside enemies.

It’s the inside enemies that worry me. Today our problem is our neglect of the living God. It is those who deliberately want to throw the nation into chaos.

For this reason, America needs the church like never before.

What does America need for the church to do?

First, we need to be steady and dependable with our commitment to biblical truth. “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death” (Proverbs 14:12). Our country has turned to many ways that appear to be right but which will ultimately lead to destruction. The church must show the way by teaching biblical truth.

Second, the church must embrace revival. It’s time for the church to get its house in order so that we can lead the nation as a whole. It must be God’s people who lead the way in revival: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Third, the church must be involved in the political process. We must register, vote, contribute, and hold elected officials accountable. Don’t believe the lie that your vote doesn’t matter. Does who is appointed to the Supreme Court matter? Your vote will make a difference.

Finally, we must pray for a third Great Awakening. We have been here before. God blessed America with revival. The churches filled with new believers. It can happen again. Let us pray fervently, believing that God will hear our prayer and heal our land.

May God bless America.

  1. The only thing that will change America now is a supernatural Revival of the old paths. New modernism will not cut it. The song writer out it this way. “All is vain unless the Spieit of the Holy One come down”.

    1. I think everyone has finally come to that conclusion. “When God is all you have, you learn God is all you need.” We truly need HIm, let us pray for a Third Great Awakening in America. Wouldn’t Satan be surprised (again) if what we are going through became the impetus for a genuine revival?
