Why Your Sin Will Always Find You Out

oct.2“God warned his people to ‘learn not the way of the nations’ (Jeremiah 10:1), for ‘many are the sorrows of the wicked’ (Psalm 32:10). The enemy hates us, so we can know that every temptation is intended to result in our hurt. What seems pleasant and popular today will be ruinous tomorrow. If you continue in a sin because it hasn’t yet been discovered, know that you’re being set up. The longer you persist, the greater the damage when your sin is revealed”–Jim Denison.

“Be sure your sin will find you out”–Numbers 32:23.

“Just because our culture magnifies a lie doesn’t make it true”–Jim Denison.

“Every thing that a man leans upon but God will be a dart that will certainly pierce his heart through and through. He who leans only upon Christ lives the highest, choicest, safest, and sweetest life”–Thomas Brooks.

“Men do not differ much about what things they will call evils; they differ enormously about what evils they will call excusable”–G.K. Chesterton.

“Sin has the devil for its father, shame for its companion, and death for its wages”–Thomas Watson.

“Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops”–Luke 12:2-3.

“If you don’t deal with your issues in your 20’s and 30’s, they will destroy you in your 40’s and 50’s.”

  1. Dear Dr. Bailey, All your messages are pithy and helpful, but I especially appreciated
this one because you quoted our dearly loved former pastor, Dr. Jim Denison. I attend
a Bible study with 469 women in our church (pcbc.org) every Thursday a.m. from
9:30-11:15, and his wife, Janet, teaches the large group after we have met in our
relatively small groups to discuss our workbook answers and pray together. As is your
precious Martha, she is an anointed Bible teacher and writer. Thank you, Mary
