We all know people who have difficulty believing certain things.

For example, we see people who find it difficult to believe there is a God of the universe who created the heavens and the earth. Or, we know people who have difficulty believing the virgin birth or the resurrection of Jesus.

The Apostle Paul asked during his meeting with King Agrippa, “Why does it seem incredible to any of you that God raises the dead?” (Acts 26:8).

Paul assumed that the God who created life can also raise the dead.

I don’t have difficulty believing any of the previous events, but there are certain things that are difficult to believe because they are so wonderful.

What seems too joyful to be true? What is it that is so incredibly amazing? Those first disciples had difficulty with the resurrection because it was just too joyful for them. They had difficulty believing because of their joy.

Like the early disciples, here are some things which are simply too wonderful.

First, I find it wonderfully amazing that the God of the universe will pray for individuals like you and me. In John 17, Jesus prayed what is known as The High Priestly Prayer. He prayed for Himself as He faced the crucifixion, for His disciples, and for those in the future who would believe. Today, Jesus makes intercession for those who follow Him (Romans 8:34, Hebrews 7:25). I find that amazing.

Second, I find it amazing that God shares Himself with us. Think of all the things we have because of Christ.

The joy, peace, and love we experience is from Christ Himself. It is His love, His joy, and His peace which we experience. “I have told you these things that my love may be in you and your joy may be complete” (John 15:11).

I find it simply amazing that He is in us and we are in Him and that He shares Himself with us.

Third, I find it amazing that all God’s greatest gifts are free. He gives freely and lovingly and asks nothing in return except for us to love Him as well.

Finally, I find it amazing that God did all of this because of love. “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

Paul knew there are some people for whom others would die, but Christ died not for the good or the righteous. He died to make us righteous by giving us His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21).

I find that and all of these things simply amazing. They are too good to be true, but they are all true and I rejoice in them.
