We Have A Problem

We all have a problem, and everyone knows what it is. How do we remain faithful to Christ? How do we stay strong in our relationship with Him?

You may be one of those people who seems to run hot and cold about your faith. You’re either very much involved or not involved at all.

What can you do to live faithfully with Christ?

The good news is the Bible helps us with this dilemma. It gives us practical advice on how to stay strong in our faith.

Here are some things you can do.

First, always remember that our faith is faith in Christ. It’s about the person of Jesus.

The writer of Hebrews encouraged those Jewish Christians suffering persecution to “fix your eyes on Jesus.” (Hebrews 12:2). He also told them to consider the example of Jesus.

What we need to remain strong and to stand up under persecution is to put Jesus at the very center of our lives.

Second, remember the example of other believers. Hebrews 11 is “the roll call of faith.” Other people call it “great examples of faith.” These were people like we are with the same struggles we have. As you follow their example you will be encouraged to be strong in your faith.

Third, emphasize perseverance. The author of Hebrews equated our lives with running a race. The runner wants to run unhindered. Therefore, get rid of the weight and the things that keep you from running freely.

Of course, the writer of Hebrews was talking about the sin that weighs us down.

Runners who win always persevere. They endure the struggles so that they may win the prize. This is a good analogy for living for Christ. We must persevere and endure to win the prize.

“And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith” (Hebrews 12:1-2).

May you give your best as you run your race.

“Lord Jesus, I can’t, You never said I could; but You can, and always said You would. That is all I need to know”.

Thank goodness our Father did not leave us orphans to wander this guilty sod — we are MORE THAN OVERCOMERS because he lives in us, we cannot, should not ‘try to be good’ on our own, that is an insult to the cross. No longer I who live but he who lives in me, a new creation IN Christ Jesus! : )
