What’s New?

Easter  is the most uplifting and hope-filled day of the year.

The Apostle Paul strongly indicated that the resurrection of Jesus is the central part of our faith and the part that is indispensable. “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins” (1 Corinthians 15:17). Without the living Christ, we have religion but we do not have hope.

Those who are not yet believers instinctively know that Easter is the day to go to church.

For this reason, I want to ask you to invite friends, family, and associates to church with you leading up to Easter. Fred Luter says that when we invite and encourage friends, family, and associates we are doing “frangelism,” we are helping them know Christ as Lord and Savior.

Beginning February 27-28 and concluding Easter Sunday, March 27, we will have five Sundays of emphasis leading up to our celebration of the resurrection–this will serve to promote Bible Study (March Madness), worship, and evangelism. We will look at the power of the cross and the hope of the resurrection. It will be a time when we will talk about our faith and the “reason for the hope” that we have. As Simon Peter told us, we will do this with “gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15).

Palm Sunday weekend, March 19-20, we will have special guest Ken Ham with us. Ken is the founder and leader of Answers in Genesis and the Creation Museum. He is a powerful “apologist” for faith in Christ and the truthfulness of Scripture. “Apolgetics” is a term used to describe those who give reasons for the hope we have in Christ.

This is something you do not want to miss. Ken will speak at all four weekend services March 19-20. If you have friends who attend other churches, they can attend Saturday night without missing their own church. He will bring a different message Sunday night and Monday night.

He will have two special times to speak Monday morning as well.

Children and young people should not miss any of these times to hear Ken Ham. Do you want to know about dinosaurs and where they fit in Scripture? This is just a small sample of the complex questions Ken will help us with.

Please plan to attend all the services from February 27-28 to Easter–and be sure to do some “Frangelism.”

  1. You will have a great service with Ken Ham. I would recommend that everyone visit his Creation Museum in Kentucky just across the river from Cincinnati. It is great and i understand the full-sized replica of Noah’s ark will be completed soon and open in July.
