The Report from Vacation Bible School

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Vacation Bible School 2016 is in the books, and those books record a great VBS.

I want to thank all the volunteers and First Baptist Church as a whole for providing Vacation Bible School for the children of our area.

During Vacation Bible School week, the church expends large amounts of volunteer hours, disruptions in normal routines, and finances to make VBS the success that it is.

Here are some of the statistics that occurred during the week.

We enrolled almost 1500 people in Vacation Bible school. This included children, youth volunteers, and adults.

Each day of Vacation Bible School over 1100 people attended. It was a very even attendance. Every day looked about the same numbers wise as every other day.

To me, the greatest event was the number of children who professed faith in Christ – – many were the children of First Baptist Church and many others outside the church.

We recorded 111 decisions for Christ! These are the most decisions we’ve ever recorded.

We are now into the follow up phase of Vacation Bible School. Please be in prayer for these children, their parents, and those who will follow up these decisions.

The follow up phase is just as important as the VBS and decision making time.

During the week, our children gave $7000 – – in pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters – – for our two mission projects of the week.

Because of Vacation Bible School, there will be a clean water well in Uganda and a church facility in Lucknow, India.

We praise God for what He is doing through our children and adults

Each weekday I write a devotional and each Saturday I write specifically to the church I serve. If you would like to receive these devotionals in your inbox each morning, you can subscribe below.
