Why Humility Counts Big Time!

“But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: ‘God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble’ “–James 4:6.

“You must constantly beware of anything that causes you to think of yourself as a superior person”–Oswald Chambers.

“But beware a condescending spirit of superiority or judgment: ‘Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you’ [Ephesians 4:31-32]. . . . Living and speaking biblically with courageous humility is God’s call for this hour”–Jim Denison.

” ‘For every one who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.’ He said also to the man who had invited him. ‘When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your kinsmen or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return, and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, and the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. You will be repaid at the resurrection of the just’ “–Luke 14:11-14.

“When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him”–Proverbs 16:7.

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever”–1 John 2:15-17.
