You and Your Character

“We become preoccupied with our circumstances. God is preoccupied with our character. He will allow the tough times for the higher good of our character until He is finished with the great work that is invisible to earthly eyes”–Ron Herrod.

“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love”–Romans 5:3-5.

“When we choose deliberately to obey [God], then he will tax the remotest star and the last grain of sand to assist us with all his almighty power”–Oswald Chambers.

“I resolve never to do anything which I would be afraid to do if it were the last hour of my life”–Jonathan Edwards.

“Never tolerate, because of sympathy to yourself or for others, any practice that is not in keeping with a holy God”–Oswald Chambers.

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy”–Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us”–1 Peter 2:12.
