Lagniappe

Have you seen the crane in the sky over our church campus? It’s really hard to miss. It’s 180 feet tall, and it’s on our campus to begin erecting steel.

After several months of setting a firm foundation, the building is now going vertical.

This is the next step in the process that will lead to new educational space, the commons area with bookstore and coffee shop, and a new 2300+ seat worship center.

The educational building and parts of the commons area will be open for use in late 2017. We are amazingly within about a year of opening the building and instituting our new schedule of Bible study and worship times.

The new worship center will be ready to occupy as early as the spring of 2018.

We are grateful to God for His blessings and the faithfulness of His people to give financially to make all this happen.

This weekend marks one of the high points of our church each year – – the baptism service in the Bogue Falaya River in Covington. We will meet Sunday afternoon (today) at Bogue Falaya Park in downtown Covington. The baptism will begin promptly at 4 PM.

We hope you will join us as we baptize over 60 people this weekend. This church year has been a record for people being baptized and joining the membership of First Baptist Church. For this we are grateful to God.

“Lagniappe” (pronounced lan-yap), meaning “a little something extra,” is an article I write our church every week giving them a little more information about what is taking place.
