Can I Give Now?

Last week we were approached by someone who asked: “Will we have an opportunity to make a commitment to help pay for the expansion to our campus?” We smiled and assured them that the opportunity is quickly arriving.

Let me share with you the schedule for preparing and equipping the church concerning our Forward! Capital Campaign. I’ll start with the commitment day and move backward.

Sunday November 13, 2016, is the day for all of us to make our commitment to support the building expansion. The commitment is a three year commitment for the calendar years 2017, 2018, and 2019. This commitment on the part of our people will “put us over the hump,” help us “finish well,”  and get us “across the goal line” as we anticipate this expansion. (You can tell I am trying to find the right cliché to help us get the picture of what we need to do).

If for some reason, you cannot make your commitment on that day, you can mail your card to the church office or simply place it in the offering plate any weekend service.

Sunday November 6, is the day when the total of our church leadership pledges will be announced as a way of leading and encouraging the congregation. Leaders lead. As our leaders (pastors, deacons, Bible Fellowship leaders, ministry team members, and other leaders) demonstrate their commitment to finish the project, the rest of us will also be encouraged to follow God and the example of our leaders.

Monday October 24, Thursday October 27, Thursday November 3 is the time for our leaders to meet, view the new building, and prepare to make their commitments. If you have not been contacted and would like to attend one of these meetings, please call the church office.

Saturday/Sunday October 22 and 23 (Today) is high attendance day and Beam Signing, a day when we put our names, Scripture, and hopes and dreams on a steel beam which will be used in the building. Children will have a time to construct a beam out of legos–it should be fun!

Today the sermon and Bible Fellowship lessons are about prayer. Would you pray for the leadership and blessings of God?
