Two Ways You Can Affect the Future at FBC

The Bible tells us about who we are as members of the body of Christ.

Paul reminded us that we have one body with many members and these members do not have  the same function. It’s the same in the body of Christ.

In Christ we who are many form one body and each member belongs to all the others.

We all have different gifts according to the grace God has given us. Paul tells us to use our gifts to the fullest extent possible for the glory of God.

Whatever your gift, give it your very best (Romans 12:4–8).

I want to share with you two ways you can affect the future of First Baptist Church.

First, please give prayer and attention to the election of deacons at FBC. In The Vision today, you have a list of potential deacons before you. These are men who have been vetted by a special team charged with this responsibility.

They now place them before you to pray and seek God’s leadership.

We will vote for 12 of these men the weekend of November 5–6.

Second, we are moving forward (no pun intended) with our FORWARD Capital Campaign. We are asking our church leaders to make their commitments first so that we can announce their pledges next weekend.

The following weekend, November 12–13, we will all have the opportunity to make our commitment to the building expansion of FBC.

Please begin seeking God and praying about your commitment.

As I have shared at the leaders’ meetings, Martha and I pledge to do what we ask you to do – – seek God’s guidance and do your best financially for your church.

If we all do that, we will be fine.

Thank you for functioning as the body of Christ. Please use your gifts for his glory and for his kingdom.
