One of the things I try to do constantly is to keep you informed about important events in the church as well helping you see the vision and purpose of the church.

With that in mind, here are two things you need to know.

First, deacons serve as servant leaders of our congregation. While they don’t administer the church, they are tasked with leading the church toward unity, harmony, and Godliness. They visit in the hospitals and pray for the church and its leadership.

Last week you elected the following twelve men to lead in this capacity for the next two years: Lionel Adams, Bill Allen, Sean Barnes, Tom Chambless, Jason Coffey, John Fricke, Joe Jarrell, Jack Knight, Chuck Rich, Don Saucier, Kevin Seal, and Barry Strickland.

Please support these men and their families as they lead the church. They will begin their terms of service January 1, 2017.

Second, you have been given a copy of the proposed budget of First Baptist Church. Church budgets serve as ministry plans and blueprints for the church. Our budgets are formulated by our pastors and Finance Ministry Team.

This Wednesday night (November 16) we will meet as a congregation to hear the budget presented to the church. We will meet at 6:15 in the Fellowship Hall. We will also affirm the election of deacons at this time as well as vote on the recommendations of the Nominating Ministry Team. The entire meeting will be concluded by 7:30 PM.
