Happy New Year!

I hope you’ve had a great time these last two weeks.

We’ve had a wonderful time with family and a wonderful time of worship Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

We’ve enjoyed having Brad and Emily and Reagan and Luke with us since Christmas night. The weather was great the first part of the week, and we had the blessing of getting to spend a lot of time outside. We have a small battery powered four wheeler, a larger gas powered four wheeler, and a golf cart. The kids had a great time driving all of my equipment!

Of course, we are blessed to have Chris and Anna and Jake and Chase living near us and worshiping at FBC.

One of the great parts of Christmas is family and friends.

I have also enjoyed several days this past week with less pressure and more free time.

But all of that has now come to an end, and we are all ready to get back to a routine.

At church, the new routine begins Wednesday night as we ramp back up to a fuller schedule.

Next Sunday, I begin a new sermon series entitled “Starting with a Bang!” I’ve had several jokes about the title around the office.

We really do need to start the new year with a bang. This year will have tremendous challenges for us all. Most of the biggest challenges are unknown to us now.

That’s why we need to start with a bang. We need to be ready for what we are going to face in the new year.

I hope one of the things you will do this year is make a commitment to worship weekly with the family of God. You need us, and we need you. Being a follower of Christ is a “one another” relationship. The Bible tells us to pray, love, and encourage one another. We really can’t do that if we neglect the practice of worship and fellowship with other believers.

Please join with me this week and especially next weekend as we start the new year with a bang!
