We would all like to start anything with a bang. We all know how important it is to get something off on the right foot. That’s why I’m preaching the next several weeks about “Starting with a Bang!: Getting Off on the Right Foot in the New Year.”

God has given us a tremendous opportunity to begin again and do the things we need and want to do.

I want to talk with you about setting your priorities and establishing habits that will help make your 2017 –as well as the rest of your life–a positive and productive time.

God’s Word is filled with practical and helpful ways to have the kind of life God wants us to have. He calls us to be strong and courageous and to give our best to Him.

God created us with a purpose. He created us to know Him and to follow Him. When we finally get to the place where we are seeking the Lord with all our heart and trusting in Him with all our being, we will begin to experience meaningful existence in God’s world.

The Apostle Paul understood the importance of our outlook and having a positive attitude about life. He reminded the church at Philippi about how he lived. “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:12-14).
