Would You Like to Help Reach North America?

Would you like to help reach North America for the Gospel?

Most of us have been quite concerned about the state of “lostness” in North America. We have tremendous needs for people to hear and respond to the Gospel.

I would like to give you an excellent way to help reach North America for Christ.

Each year Southern Baptists participate in an offering to take the message to our continent.

This offering is given for North American missions through the North American Mission Board.

The North American Mission Board has been tasked by the 46,000 Southern Baptist churches in North America to encourage church planting and to take the gospel to our neighbors.

The major strategy of the North American Mission Board (NAMB) falls into two areas. First, NAMB encourages the planting of churches in America. It has particularly targeted 32 of the largest unreached and unchurched cities in America. NAMB calls these “Send Cities.” The Send Cities include New York, San Francisco, Denver, and New Orleans. What we do in this offering helps the entire continent and also makes a difference right next door.

Second, NAMB facilitates Send Relief. This disaster relief effort is at the forefront of assistance when natural disasters strike. Last year, Southern Baptists through the mission board were quite active in the floods that hit our state.

You and I have a wonderful opportunity to give to reach our nation and continent through the Annie Armstrong Offering. All the funds we give will go to take the Gospel to our nation. Your offering envelopes which you receive in the mail contains an envelope for the Easter offering. You can also give in your regular envelope.

Last year, First Baptist Church was one of the top five giving churches among Louisiana Baptists. I hope you will join with me as we give during this Easter season to plant churches and to proclaim the gospel.
