I’m looking for good church members.
So are you.
We are all looking for people who can be a blessing to the church and to those who are outside the church. We are looking for people who will make the church what God desires it to be.
Let me give you four suggestions for being a good church member.
First, be positive. In your mind, maximize the strengths of others rather than their weaknesses. Make your default setting to look for the best in other people.
Negative aspects of the church must always be corrected, but being negative will destroy the church.
Paul advised the believers in Philippi to emphasize those things that are pure, right, and truthful (Philippians 4:8-9).
Paul also encouraged the church to be kind, tenderhearted, and compassionate and he strongly called for the church to put away anger, wrath, and hateful attitudes (Ephesians 4:31–32).
Ask any pastor and you will find that they love and appreciate positive people. It makes you a good church member.
When we neglect prayer, we neglect the power of God. Good church members are praying people.
Finally, seek God. The closer we draw to God the more we are like Him.

Waylon,
Doubt you will find either “good” or, certainly “great” church members.
Believe that bunches of the members of our church serve a great God. That’s what we are here to do.
In Him,
Bill
Yes, I love that quote. It applies to everything. Only God is good or great. We serve a great God. Thanks for responding.
