Looking Toward the Future

This has been quite a week. Here are three items you need to know.

First, we had a great week of Vacation Bible School. We enrolled almost 1400 children and adults. We saw many children pray to receive Christ, and we are looking forward to following up on their decisions.

On Thursday morning, one of the grandfathers shook my hand as he left the building after dropping off grandchildren. He said kindly, “You’ve got a load on your hands.” It was his way of saying, “Thank you.”

I don’t have a big load at all because of the leadership and volunteers of First Baptist Church. They make VBS and a lot of other things happen. I am grateful for all of those who have worked so hard to help children and families know Christ.

Second, we have a business meeting Wednesday, June 28, at 6:30 PM in the fellowship hall. The purpose of this meeting is to hear a report from our Personnel Team. They will bring you up-to-date on our search for the two leaders for our worship services.

Third, I am thankful for your positive and encouraging response about our plans to begin our new schedule September 10, of this year.

We are now 90 days from our new schedule. These 90 days will be very important for our future. Thanks to all of you who have prayed and considered how you can best be a blessing in your service and ministry.

These next months are going to be exciting times. Let us commit together to be people of prayer, thoughtfulness, and devotion as we look to what God will do in our future.
