This Week at FBC

We are excited to report that FBC has called Benji and Jenna Cowart to serve our church as Worship Arts Pastors. Among other responsibilities, they will lead the current 6:00 PM and 9:45 and 11:00 AM services musically. We are thrilled they felt led to receive our call to serve in this capacity.

They plan to be here for the start of school and to lead worship beginning August 12 and 13. The Cowart family has a lot to do to get moved to Louisiana in a short six weeks. Please be in prayer for God’s blessings for house and financial decisions and especially for the blessings on their wonderful children.

You know, of course, that our new schedule begins September 10. At that time Benji and Jenna will lead the 6:00 PM Saturday service and the 11:00 AM Sunday service.

We continue to look for the person who will lead the present 8:30 AM Sunday service. That worship service will move to the 9:30 time slot September 10.

We are continuing to get ready for our new schedule September 10. Work is beginning this week to open the connector between the present Preschool hallway and the new building. Once that is complete, we will move forward with light renovation (primarily paint and flooring) of that area for our Senior Adults. The same will happen in the present Children’s building to prepare that area for median and young adult usage.

We have much to do. Please pray as we seek to make the best decisions for the future of FBC.

During the month of July Dr. Rex Butler of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary will teach about the Protestant Reformation (October 31 of this year will be the 500th anniversary) and how we got the Bible. I think it is a “can’t miss” opportunity. These meetings will be each Sunday evening beginning next Sunday July 9.
