Living Joyfully and Serving Abundantly

Martha and I have had a great time away, and we are now ready to be back to join with you in worship and ministry through First Baptist Church.

While we are anxious to be with people we have known for years, we are excited about meeting those of you who have just begun to attend FBC. Please be sure to introduce yourself in the days ahead.

I am looking forward to being in the office Monday and returning to my normal routine.

Part of that routine includes Tuesday Men’s Breakfast and Wednesday Worship. Both will meet this week.

Tuesday Men’s Breakfast meets each Tuesday (except around certain holidays) as does our Wednesday Worship time. Both meet in the Fellowship Hall and both are led by me and our pastoral team.

Please plan to join me in these important times of worship and study beginning this Tuesday and Wednesday.

Here are three items to remember.

First, we are ready to welcome Benji and Jenna Cowart and their family to First Baptist Church. They will serve as Worship Arts Pastors and will specifically lead the Saturday worship and the 9:45 and 11:00 AM Sunday worship services. Benji and Jenna are getting moved to our area and will be leading worship Saturday and Sunday August 12-13.

Second, we are moving quickly to the opening of our new educational building and the beginning of our new Sunday schedule beginning September 10. As we have discussed, this will be an exciting and demanding time. I will discuss some of these “demanding” aspects Sunday August 6.

Third, my new sermon series will be about joy, specifically as found in the letter of the Apostle Paul to the church at Philippi. This series will begin August 12-13. Please encourage your friends and family to worship with us as we learn to “Live Joyfully.”

Verse of the Day
