I Could Not Have Made This Any Better

“If I could have scripted today, I could not have made it any better.” Those were the words I wrote to our pastors and administrative staff Sunday afternoon about the successful launch of our new schedule.

I could also say that it was better than I could hope or imagine.

Thank you for helping make the new schedule and the opening of the educational space such a success.

Anything that works this well has huge buy in by the congregation. You made this work. Thank you for what you have done.

How well did it work?

First of all, we had a record Bible Fellowship Group attendance. We didn’t simply break a record; we crushed it. We had 1726 in Bible Fellowship attendance. Our previous record was 1635 people who attended the year before Hurricane Katrina as we had our Purpose Driven Life kickoff.

Our preschoolers (birth-4), children (k-6th grade), and youth (7th-12th grades) and their leaders made up 49% of our attendance, a very healthy statistic. This is the norm for the demographic of our Bible Fellowship attendance.

Second, our attendance at the two worship services balanced out much better than I envisioned. This allowed us to have fairly balanced attendance for children at the 9:30 and 11:00 Bible Fellowship hours. This was essential for the ability to use our buildings to the fullest.

Our total attendance for the day exceeded 22oo. For that we are grateful.

Third, we had many new people join with us and we had many of our long time members take positions of leadership. For the church to fulfill its mission of taking the Gospel to the world, we must increase the leadership of the church. Last Sunday was a really good beginning.

Finally, last Sunday was a time of spiritual significance as we became more like our Savior. Paul asked the church at Philippi to take on the mind of Christ, that is, to be a servant, so that Christ might be known and followed.

It was that kind of day.

  1. The success of our church is God inspired, that’s a given BUT this could not happen without God inspired people. This is a great church with great people and Great Leaders!!!!!
