Dealing With Evil

“The world is too dangerous to live in–not because of the people who do evil, but because of the people who sit and let it happen”–Albert Einstein.

“Whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin”–James 4:17.

“Nothing is so fatal to religion as indifference. . . . The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. . . . Those who don’t know history are destined to repeat it. . . .Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little. . . . It is a general popular error to suppose the loudest complainers for the public to be the most anxious for its welfare”–Edmund Burke.

“To love without condition does not mean to love without concern”–Henri Nouwen.

“One reason sin flourishes is that it is treated like a cream puff instead of a rattlesnake”–Billy Sunday.

“My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them for the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth”–John 17:15-17.
